To Cleveland Dems:
The DAY following our September 4th Executive Committee meeting marks 61 days until the November 4th general election. Are we ready? The answer is as ready as we need to be and that’s saying a lot. Could we all use a little more time to prepare? Of course we could. However, NOW is the time to FOCUS on what we can all accomplish together in only SIXTY-ONE DAYS; how we can significantly impact the outcome of the upcoming election; and how we prepare ourselves and the voters of Cleveland County by arming them with the knowledge of their new voter environment: precinct mergers, new voter ID laws, the elimination of the ballot straight ticket and one-stop voting; to name a few of the challenges voters will face. However, as your Chair, I have complete CONFIDENCE in our ability to turn this election around in our favor.
We MUST commit to lending our total support to all our brave candidates. Volunteering to make phone calls on their behalf; walking with them as they introduce themselves to your neighborhoods; placing their yard signs in our yards and throughout our neighborhoods; participating in letter writing campaigns; supporting all local political events and rallies to include the annual fair booth exhibits; and participating in our “Each One Reach One” campaign of bringing at least one volunteer with you in support of our coordinated campaigns efforts. These are only a few examples of how we will make the difference. Cleveland County Dems are getting “Fired Up and Ready to Win" and it begins with your level of commitment towards that end.
Please don’t miss this meeting. Your attendance is critical to meeting quorum as well as meeting the needs of the candidates and voters of this great county. I look forward to seeing our Precinct Chairs, Vice Chairs, Officers, Candidates, State Executive Committee (SEC) members, Elected Officials, District Officers, and Auxiliary Presidents. Again, I encourage all members of the executive committee to recruit and invite at least one individual to get involved.
As a reminder, our meeting will not be in the commissioner’s chamber. We will be located on the first floor in the R.L. Alexander conference room. It is immediately to the right of the lobby as you enter the building. Refreshments and fellowship will be available between 6:30 – 7:00 p.m before our meeting begins. The meeting will commence at 7:00 p.m.
I look forward to seeing everyone!
Let’s Go Dems!
